Lunch Menus
Northlands’ Whole-School approach to food
At Northlands, we understand the importance of food as a contributing factor to keeping us fit and healthy. Our school menu offers a variety of freshly-prepared meals each day. Our highly-experienced catering team ensure that menus have meals that not only will the children enjoy, but that also offer a high nutritional value.
Children and staff can choose from a hot meal option or a jacket potato / filled roll as well as dessert. There is also a choice of wholemeal bread and fruit to supplement meals. All dietary requirements / allergens are catered for.
In addition, we encourage healthy food choices throughout the school. Children are asked to bring a water bottle to school (no juice or cordial please) and there are water-filling stations in each school building. We also encourage healthy lunch boxes and are in regular conversation with parents if necessary around children’s eating habits.
Children are encouraged from an early age to make their own meal choices as well as to sit and socialise with peers. This also encourages children to use their cutlery in a social environment! All children are taught to clear up after themselves at the end of their meal.
During the summer months, children in the upper school are able to eat their packed lunches outside on picnic benches.
Please let the office know if you think you are entitled to free school meals and your child is in years 3, 4, 5 or 6.
