PE
In Reception, Physical Education (PE) plays a key role in supporting children’s physical development and confidence. We focus on building both gross motor skills (such as running, jumping, balancing, and climbing) and fine motor skills (such as coordination, control, and precision).
PE takes place twice a week, and children keep their PE kits in school to ensure they are always ready to take part. We place a strong emphasis on independence, encouraging children to dress and undress by themselves. This not only supports physical development but also helps build self-confidence and a sense of responsibility.
Our specialist PE teachers deliver high-quality, engaging lessons that are full of energy, fun, and variety. From obstacle courses to dance, ball skills to team games, every session is designed to help children enjoy being active while developing key physical skills.
We aim to give all children a positive start to physical education, laying the foundations for a lifelong love of movement and sport.
